1968 Fender Telecaster Custom Blond Black Binding
This vintage 1968 Fender Telecaster Custom in rare Blond finish with black edge binding with factory Bigsby tailpiece has just come in from its original owner! It has survived in amazing original condition and is ready to play.
Make and Model: Fender Telecaster Custom Blond finish over Ash body, Maple cap fretboard, factory Bigsby tailpiece
Year: 1968. Neck heel ink stamp "3JUL68B" (3 = Telecaster model, JUL = July, 68 = 1968, B = standard neck width 1 5/8"). Serial number 211xxx. Check out How to date Fender guitars.
Measurements: 8 lbs 5 oz, 1 5/8" nut width, neck depth at first fret = .86", depth at 12th fret = .94".
Condition: Excellent! The finish has yellowed significantly. There's some light scratching on the back possibly from a belt buckle. No breaks, repairs, or modifications observed.
Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight and the truss rod adjusts as intended. There's a significant amount of fret wear in the first 5 frets. The original pickups sound great! All electronics work as intended.
Notes: This amazing late 1960s Telecaster was lovingly played for its first decade or so of life but has been stored away until recently. I was pleased to purchase it from the man in the picture. I'm told that this was taken in 1969 on an Air Force base in Alaska.
