1954 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop

It's our pleasure to introduce this stunning 1954 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop. We flew to Chicago to purchase this from the son of the original owner. His father treated this wrap tail Les Paul like it was family, which is obvious from its current condition. While his father loved it, his son had an affinity for other guitars with faster and flatter neck profiles, so he decided to let it go rather than letting it sit under a bed for the rest of its life. What a find!

Measurements: 8.7 lbs / 3.95 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.73" / 43mm wide at the nut, 0.93" deep at the first fret, and 1.02" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup measures 8.51k ohms and the bridge reads 7.44k ohms.

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder are original to this guitar except the following: pickguard bracket (vintage part), solder on tone capacitor legs, and bridge post bushings. The original owner thought the capacitor had failed, but it was just a loose tab on the pot (works perfectly now). We replaced the short bushings with long bushings to correct any post lean.

Playability: Excellent! The neck is straight and action is low.

Condition: Very good with no breaks or repairs. Patina slightly visible on the gold finish and checking all over. The pickguard has some etching from black paint which was previously applied.

Included: This guitar comes with its original case.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
